Well, our debutant Mixed 2nds team had their first taste of action last night, but despite a valiant effort went down 1:8 to David Lloyd IV. Some really competitive games though, with many of them going to multiple deuces. Annette & Mark even managed to sneak a win in their first match, coming from 5-8 down and match point to level it up at 8-8 and then (eventually) go on to snatch the tie-break 8-6. A really enjoyable night, despite the result. Oh, apart from the David Lloyd catering afterwards – I mean, Fish Curry? Really?

Our Men’s first team suffered a similar fate to Derby Tennis Centre 1 at home last night, putting up a brave challenge but conceding a 0-9 defeat. A heavy loss on paper, but some good tennis and close games throughout. And no fish curry in sight…….
